Acrylic paint on rolled canvas

“Love” is an Asian inspired contemporary painting using the main colours of silver and white. It includes the Chinese symbol for love in the body of the painting along with textured highlights in gold, black and red. It is painted using acrylic paint on canvas cut from a roll. This allows the painting to be framed in a frame (as shown) or stretched over a wooden frame to make a regular painting. The artwork is actually larger than stated by 4 cm on each side allowing for the edges should it become a stretched canvas. It can be cut to size. It is signed on the back but can be signed on the front if requested. The painting comes with a signed certificate of authenticity and is registered in the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists, registration number provided. You will receive this painting rolled in a tube.

Concept

ARTIST STATEMENT:
I seek to explore feelings through my work. I do this with the use of colour, texture and gestural strokes. I enjoy painting in vibrant colours as they lift the spirit and energise us. I also like to paint in soft colours when I want to express emotions of tranquility or fragility. I want people to be moved when they see one of my paintings. I believe that colour has a psychological effect on us and that painting is a medium that can transfer the emotions of the artist on to the canvas to be shared with others. The emotions I attempt to share in this way are always positive. Most commonly the joy of being alive, the beauty of nature or the quiet reflection of a pensive state. I enjoy painting large pieces as they allow me to be completely immersed in the painting. I like to be experimental with tools and materials and to produce something unique and personal. Most recently I have been teaching abstract art classes which is something I also feel passionate about.

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
